Question by Lisa G: subsititute butter/margine to make it a vegan recipe?
I know that you can subsitute eggs with applesauce, bananas, tofu, and some other items, but what can you replace butter with?
I’m not talking about soy margine but something that people may have around the house such as the subsitutes for eggs.

Question by kewte_kewpie: What is your favorite vegetarian recipe?
I want personal recipes, please- or if you do actually use a website for your recipes that you have tried, that would be fine, too.
I don’t like to eat meat all of the time and I love ethnic foods. I have a couple of good Eastern Indian recipes that I use but I’d like to broaden my recipe list. Thanks for your time!

Question by orangebanana: Whipped vegan vanilla frosting recipe anyone?
So my friend and I are both vegan and we want to make a dessert for my family labor day cookout. We decided that we wanted to make a cake. She has a craving for whipped vanilla frosting. We have soymilk and vegan butter so if there are any non-vegan recipes with milk or butter in it we can substitute.

Answer by CMSFRMS2145 1 cup full fat coconut milk, from two 13.5 oz cans
1/4 cup powdered sugar or to taste
1/4 cup soy or rice milk powder
1 tsp vanilla extract or to taste
Directions:
Open the cans of coconut milk, and cover with plastic wrap, or just leave the lid on loosely
Spoon the thick portion from the top of the coconut milk until you have one cup, reserving the lighter portion left in the bottom of the cans for other uses
Chill in the fridge for about 4 hours: The cans of coconut milk, a metal mixing bowl, and the beaters from a hand mixer
Beat the thick coconut cream in the chilled bowl with a hand mixer until thick and fluffy
Gradually beat in the powdered sugar and milk powder 1 or 2 Tbsp at a time, testing for flavor and consistency
For flavored whipped cream, add some cinnamon, instant coffee, or cocoa powder (you may want to increase the sugar a bit); or replace the vanilla with almond or coconut extract or a liqueur
Using a rubber spatula, transfer the coconut cream from the blender to a covered storage container, and refrigerate until needed
***This is a vegan whipped vanilla coconut cream frosting. From what I have heard it is really good but I have never tasted it myself
Quinoa is a versatile food, similar to rice, but with enough 9 essential amino acids to make a complete protein. It’s easy to prepare and super tasty. The salad recipe below makes an excellent meal, a tasty side dish, or a light snack. For more recipes check out my other cooking vids at www.youtube.com QUINOA SALAD: ingredients: 1 cup quinoa 3 medium tomatoes (chopped) ¼ cup red onion (finely chopped) 3-5 garlic cloves (minced) ½ inch ginger (minced) 1 cucumber (chopped) 1/3 yellow pepper (chopped) 1 carrot (thinly sliced) ¼ cup parsley or cilantro (chopped) 3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar 2-3 Tbsp olive oil 2 Tbsp lemon juice Salt (to taste) Directions: Add 1 cup quinoa to 2 cups water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 10-15 minutes (I find it usually takes about 15 minutes). Place cooked quinoa in bowl and let cool—doesn’t have to cool completely—by the time you get your other ingredients prepped, the quinoa will be cool enough. Add vinegar, olive oil, salt, and stir well. Add onion, ginger, and garlic. I usually chop the onion fine and MINCE the garlic and ginger VERY WELL. The raw garlic and ginger adds lots of flavor and nutrition. Give the bowl a good stir and get these ingredients mixed thoroughly. Add yellow pepper (red pepper is fine, but yellow makes a nice color contrast), cucumber, carrot. Sometimes I also add green onions—or even diced jalapenos if I’m looking for a little kick—feel free to experiment with any vegetables you enjoy in a raw state … Video Rating: 5 / 5
Question by : What can I use to substitute these two ingredients?
I am trying to make vegan meatless chicken fried steak. The seitan recipe calls for marmite and Bragg’s liquid aminos. What can I use in place of these two? Any suggestions or a better recipe would be great! Thanks.
