Question by diego long: Is it hypocrisy if members of PETA support animal rights on one hand while being pro-life on the other?
The question of pro-life of pro-choice originates from the uncertainty that a fetus is a human being, the fact that it is a living thing is established by both sides. Life in all forms is sacred to PETA should they also not be a pro-life organization as well or is that being too presumptuous?

peta only focuses on what it was founded to do. if you want to make a pro life organization, go ahead.

Question by : Spiritually speaking should christians be happy PETA wasn’t around when Noah was creating the ark?
You wouldn’t be able to eat those tasty animals if they had been around back then. You know since PETA is against the whole “animals in captivity” thing.

Question by countigggd: Can anyone confirm if Peta actually sued NJ Fish and Wildlife division in 2001 for a deer collision?
I hear a rumor that Peta sued the New Jersey dept. of Fish and Wildlife back in 2001. Their members were supposedly returning home from an anti-hunting protest and hit the deer, and sued for a policy encouraging deer population growth. It sounds kinda fishy, and I have been unable to validate it. Anyone?
Best answer:
Answer by Tom V
The only case I know of (or that I could find a record of online) in which PETA sued a government entity in NJ is PETA v. NJ Sports & Exhibition Authority, for denying PETA a license to demonstrate outside the Ringling Bros. Circus performance. They won the case.
What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Tectonic French Toast (w/syrup): What are some vegan/vegetarian recipes that I can add meat to so they will taste better?
My friend is vegan and coming over for dinner tonight. I want to make her a nice vegan meal, but I want it to be flavorful. I thought if I add a little round steak or sirloin this would really amp up the flavor.
So, what recipes would go good with beef?
thanks!

Question by raven blackwing: Why do you think PEta is not trying to take away our pets?
Pet ownership is an abysmal situation brought about by human manipulation.”
-Ingrid Newkirk, President, PETA, Washingtonian, August 1986
I don’t use the word “pet.” I think it’s speciesist language. I prefer “companion animal.” For one thing, we would no longer allow breeding. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship – enjoyment at a distance.”
-Ingrid Newkirk, PETA vice-president, quoted in The Harper’s Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223.
“The cat, like the dog, must disappear….. We should cut the domestic cat free from our dominance by neutering, neutering, and more neutering, until our pathetic version of the cat ceases to exist.”
Let us allow the dog to disappear from our brick and concrete jungles — from our firesides, from the leather nooses and chains by which we enslave it.”
-John Bryant, Fettered Kingdoms: An Examination of A Changing Ethic, PETA, 1982, p.15.

Question by mediastupor: What is a good animal rights group to join besides PETA and the Humane Society?
When I joined PETA, I wasn’t aware of Ingrid Newkirk’s comment about the Animal Liberation Front, “Thinkers may prepare revolutions, but bandits must carry them out.”
Best answer:
Answer by Jessica L
supporting the local animal rescues is the best way to go. horse rescues especially. these are the ones who are awarded the animals in neglect and abuse cases, and are major advocates for humane treatment of animals. Habitat for Horses is a group that is close to me that I support.

Question by dsda D: Do you agree with Peta that Joe Biden was wrong to buy a dog from a breeder instead of adopting one?
I’m a Democrat, a big Joe Biden supporter……….but I have to say, Peta’s right, and Joe Biden’s wong.
He should have adopted a dog that was in danger of being euthenized.
(although death threats are uncalled for.)
and another question: Would you personally ever buy a pet from a breeder instead of adoptin one in danger of being euthenized?
I’m a cat-owner and I adopted mine.
Best answer:
Answer by Not You
I am no Biden fan but really who cares where he gets a dog?
