Question by Kenzii. :]: What is the difference between Vegan and Vegetarian?
I am as of last week a vegetarian, I also do not eat eggs nor do I drink milk, but consuming cheese is like drinking milk. I would like to cut all of that out completely, but what is somethings I could not eat as a vegan that I could as a vegetarian? Also I read that vegans do not wear anything from animal farming (Wool, leather, etc.) if I call myself a vegan do I also have ot do that?

Recipe: 1 pound portabella mushroom caps 4 Garlic Cloves 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1 small onion 1/2 med red pepper 1/2 med green pepper 1 8oz can tomato sauce 3 tbs light brown sugar 1 tbs red wine vinegar 2 tbs Worcestershire sauce or Vegetarian Worcestershire Sauce 2 tbs tomato paste 1 tsp Fresh Thyme leaves 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes Chop Mushrooms into small piece and add to a pot on med heat which is sprayed with cooking spray and let cook for 5-7min Add Garlic, Onion, Peppers and season with salt and pepper, cook 5-7min. Make sauce by adding Tomato Sauce, Brown Sugar, Vinegar and Worcestershire to a bowl and mixing together. Add Tomato Paste to veggies and let cook 1-2 min. would like a recipe that is healthful, low fat and low acid (if possible). looking for something that would go great with dinner salad. can be with meat or meatless; just tell me what meat would be good.

Answer by waterlily3422 You could make Lentils and rice. It’s very healthy. It would go very good with a dinner salad. It is meatless, but it also can go good served with either, beef, or chicken. It’s my all time favorite.

A vegetarian is someone who doesn’t eat meat no matter how small the amount or frequency. Eating meat every once in a while is still eating meat. Fish is meat.
A vegan is someone who abstains from meat and meat by products such as milk and cheese and does not wear fur or leather.

I tried a vegan chocolate crackle much like the ones that use kremelta, rice bubbles, cocoa, coconut and icing sugar but the vegan ones are just as yummy and less fattening. Would love to get a recipe. Thanks

Answer by C I’m not sure what a “crackle” is. Do you have a link to what you’re describing? I would also recommend googling the phrase “copycat chocolate crackle recipe” to find a recipe.

2 cups –vegetarian vegetable stock/broth –
1 tsp – butter
1 medium- sized onion – chopped
2 medium tomatoes – chopped
¼ cup – chopped cabbage
¼ cup – chopped green pepper / capsicum
¼ cup – grated carrots
1 medium sized – potato – diced
1 green chili – chopped
1 clove
1 bay leaf
1 cup water
2 Tsp – lemon juice
1 Tsp –chopped ginger½ Tsp – red chili powder
½ Tsp – Sugar
½ cup of fresh cilantro / coriander
2 Tbsp fresh milk / cream
.Salt and Pepper to taste
Croutons
In a pan, melt butter, Add clove, bay leaf, green chilli, chopped onions. Saute till transparent.
Add all the remaining vegetables, salt and pepper to taste, sugar, red chilli powder, fresh cilantro and ginger
Mix well and pour the stock over the vegetables with 1 cup of water and lemon juice
Cover and bring it to a boil.Let it cook for around 25 minutes.
Remove from heat and strain the liquid.
Grind the vegetables into a paste and mix it again with the strained liquid.
Reheat for a few minutes
Serve hot
Garnish with cream and croutons.
